We arrive in the village. It is raining and the last climbs are felt on the legs. After stopping at the bar and asking for directions, we head for the church in the hope that someone can offer us a roof under which to spend the night. Nobody answers the bell. We look around and immediately catch the eye in the gazebo in the butcher’s car park. Beautiful, wooden, big enough to be able to stay at least 4 cars. Who knows if there is room for a tent too? Let’s ask.
In your opinion how did it end? Watch the video!
Special thanks to Josef for the hospitality! He not only welcomed us with open arms, but he also offered us a delicious grilled meat dinner, shared his story and some of his passions, and introduced us to his friends.
Thanks also to his mother for having welcomed us with a smile and prepared us a great salad made with vegetables from his garden.
Thanks to Nello, Lino, Klaus and all the other friends for the evening, the chat, and the many beers!
We promise that we will return to greet you, and we will bring you some of our Modena delicacies!
Ps. If you have the chance to go to Prato Isarco, you should definitely stop by Josef, in his butcher shop (it is the only one in the country). You will be delighted by the scent that you feel when you enter his shop, from historical photos hanging on the wall, and from the passion he has for his work. But above all you will be amazed by the goodness and genuineness of its products!
