We wake up at dawn. We want to return the scooter within 8 am, so we don’t have to pay one more rental day, and we still have 40 km to go. The air is sparkling and the first lights of the sun envelop everything with a warm shade. On the road there is already great movement: the children go to school, the monks make the usual morning stroll of harvesting cooked rice, the little stalls start to show their products.

The road is linear, not very busy, asphalted. But all our path is in the opposite direction to the wind. What we supposed to be a smooth and pleasant ride soon turns into a real challenge. And once again we learn how important it’s not to make expectations, and live the present moment, giving the best of themselves 🤘😎🔝

We arrive at our destination, tired but satisfied. And before enjoy the sunset on the shore of the Mekong, we decide to visit an important archaeological site: the temple of Vat Phou, a khmer temple whose name means “Temple of the mountain” in the language lao, and today UNESCO heritage.
