Lake Baikal is the “grandfather” of all the lakes, the oldest. It’s one of the largest and deepest, and represents one fifth of the fresh water reserve of our planet. We’re amazed by this information, and immediately look at it with respectful behavior.<\/div>\n

We enter into its mystical woods, when the sun is already high in the sky, and we come immediately enveloped by the scent of pines and firs. Their perennial green colour mixes with the golden mantle of the other trees, in perfect fraternal harmony. Silence is incredibly true, and appreciated. After an hour of walking, immediately after the first more difficult ascents, we see it again. Immense, of an intense blue. Its surface of ripples at every gust of wind, and foamy waves are inevitably created. You could confuse it with a sea, if it were not down there, you can see the snow-capped mountains that outline its contours.<\/div>\n

We walk for several hours, without feeling tired and without worrying about the night that is coming. We lose ourselves to observe the magnificent landscape that surrounds us and we welcome the sunset as a child accepts a candy, incredulous and happy. We remain silent.
